Risk & Recovery Forensic Conference
Over the past few days, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and McMaster University have considered the impact of COVID-19 on the public, staff, learners and attendees. A large number of organizations and public health agencies have been moving towards cancelling large gatherings and conferences. In light of these circumstances, we regret that we need to cancel the 14th Annual Risk and Recovery Forensic Conference for April 15th – April 17th.
On behalf of the Forensic Psychiatry program here at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, we would like to thank you for your support of our Annual Risk and Recovery Conference. Our presenters and participants have been an instrumental partner in the success of this conference.
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Forensic Psychiatry Program truly value your commitment to our conference and this decision has been extremely difficult to make. Given the extenuating circumstances our community is currently facing, we appreciate your understanding of our decision to cancel the Risk and Recovery Conference. We are in consultation with Public Health Canada as well as other provincial partners in their ongoing recommendations to prevent further impact. For those of you who have paid registration fees, arrangements are being made for a full refund as soon as possible. Refunds will be issued using your original payment method. We also ask that individuals cancel their own hotel guestroom reservations by calling the Sheraton directly at 888-627-8161.
Thank you again for your understanding.
Sincerely, Dr. Gary Chaimowitz
Head of Service, Forensic Psychiatry Program
